Brochure The KidZone

Our Club is pleased to offer provincially licensed out-of-school care for children ages 7-12. We consider our program an extended learning opportunity, and offer the children fun creative things to do, take them out in the community to experience all that it has to offer, and provide daily physical activity and a snack program.

Supported by Boys and Girls Club of Canada and following the Torch Club and Cool Moves curriculum, these programs provide the tools and environment necessary for young people to learn to set academic goals and create a plan for achieving those goals and become actively engaged and self-directed in their learning.

The program runs at Marie Sharpe Elementary School (GROW Building), where children are met. The After-School Program runs Monday-Friday, 3:00 to 5:30 and costs $10.00 per child, per day. Our program also runs full days for Pro-D, November and March breaks from 8:30 to 5:30, at a cost of $20 per day, per child.

Please call Crystal at 250-392-5730, or email afterschool@bgcwilliamslake.com

* If cost presents a barrier, please speak to the program coordinator

Cool Moves

Cool Moves is a Boys and Girls Club national program aimed at motivating kids, ages 8-12, to “Play Cool” by building physical activity into their daily lives and “Eat Smart” by becoming more aware of the importance of making healthy choices about the food they eat. Our Club incorporates Cool Moves into our pre-teen After School program.
Cool Moves is sponsored by Kraft Canada!

For more information, call Crystal at 250-392-5730.

Torch Club

Torch Clubs get pre-teens, aged 10 – 13, engaged with what’s happening in their community.

Torch Club members plan their own programming based on the issues important to them. Torch Club helps kids develop leadership skills and self-esteem in a respectful, diversified environment. The program also offers the opportunity to give back to others and gain a sense of responsibility that comes with making their own decisions.

Torch Clubs provide a small group experience, with the support and guidance of a caring adult mentor. This program serves as a launching pad for pre-teens before joining Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada’s Keystone program. Torch Club is incorporated into our Pre-Teen After School Program.

For more information contact Crystal, After School Program Coordinator, at 392-5730 or email afterschool@bgcwilliamslake.com
